The organic and inorganic STW fibres which are used in filter papers for the automotive, industrial and food sectors, offer an extremely high degree of purity. They also improve tear-, wet- and folding-strength. The addition of fibres with predefined thickness or length also optimises the dimensional stability and porosity of filter papers. For heat-sealable papers, we offer special polyolefin fibres and fibrids.
Fibres from STW can be found in many V-belts, toothed belts and seals, as well as industrial and household gloves. Fibres obviate complex fabrics traditionally used in the belts, and thus facilitate more versatile products with improved flexibility of extraordinarily-improved transmission ratios.
Thanks to our fibre products, seals can be produced without asbestos. Cotton fibres in industrial and household gloves promote comfort.
In the automotive industry, door panels and instrument panels incorporate thermoplastic mouldings. STW fibrids provide the processing properties necessary in the manufacture of these thermoplastic mouldings. These same fibrids improve the dimensional and wet-strength in filtration layers. STW fibrids have also proven to be effective as binder fibres in ceramic catalyst insulations. In this context, they provide the "first binding".
